esport: Erste Group Bank (AUT), partner of Riot Games for the LEC Summer Finals 2020

Erste Group Bank, an Austrian banking group, has become the main partner of the LEC Summer Finals 2020, announced Riot Games on 15/07/2020.

This is the banking group's first partnership in esports. "Erste Group Bank is one of the strongest brands in the financial sector in Central and Eastern Europe," said the American video game publisher. A promotional clip produced by Erste Group Bank accompanies the announcement (see below).

"With Erste Group as the most innovative banking group in Austria and the CEE region, we have brought a great partner on board who wants to strengthen and anchor esports in the region together with us - not only through advertising, but also as a strong infrastructure partner," said Alban Dechelotte, head of partnerships and business development EMEA at Riot Games.

The LEC Summer Finals 2020 will be held at the end of August 2020. Originally scheduled to take place in Malmö, Sweden on 28 and 29/08/2020, the finals were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. "We're currently exploring other options for the event," explained Riot Games on 26/05/2020.
