TV rights: La chaîne L'Équipe acquires rights to the 2020 Portuguese Cup final (Benfica - Porto)

La chaîne L'Équipe (free DTT channel) has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights, in France, of the final of the 2020 Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup), via the Swedish agency Spring Media, on 16/07/2020.

The match will pit FC Porto, crowned Portuguese champions for the 29th time (15/07/2020), versus their 2019-20 runners-up and 2018-19 champions SL Benfica, behind closed doors at the Estádio Efapel in Coimbra on Saturday 01/08/2020 (kick-off at 21:45 CET).

The Portuguese Cup final had not been broadcast in France since the 2017 edition (via the SFR Sport pay-TV package). La Chaîne L'Équipe had previously broadcasted the 2015 and 2016 editions.

La chaine L'Équipe's acquisition follows those of the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España (2020-2022) and the end of the 2019-20 DFB-Pokal season in recent weeks (see details below).
