Toulouse FC: American fund RedBird Capital Partners acquires 85% of the club, D. Comolli president

"Toulouse Football Club (relegated to Ligue 2 BKT) and club owner Olivier Sadran (FRA) have entered into a definitive agreement with RedBird Capital Partners (investment fund based in New York, USA) to sell a 85% majority stake in the club," announced the Toulouse club on 20/07/2020. The two sides had entered into a period of exclusive negotiations since 21/05/2020.

"Effective today, Mr. Sadran has stepped down from his current role as majority owner and president, though (he) will retain a 15% stake in the club and remain an active member of the board of directors," added Toulouse FC, whose new president is now Damien Comolli (FRA), who "will oversee the overall management of the club, including all sporting activities".

Olivier Sadran, president of the company Newsrest (industrial catering, specializing in the airline industry), took over the Toulouse club in 2001, when TFC, in bankruptcy at the time, had just been administratively relegated to the National (French third division).
