Italy: Franco Carraro elected president of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division (FIGC)

Franco Carraro, former president of CONI and FIGC and IOC member, has been unanimously elected president of the Paralympic and Experimental Football Division (DCPS/Divisione Calcio Paralimpico e Sperimentale) of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) at the elective assembly organised in Rome (ITA) via videoconference on 22/07/2020.

This Division, created on 03/10/2019 within the FIGC, is dedicated to "the footballing activities of people with physical, mental and sensory disabilities".

Gabriele Gravina, President of the Italian Federation, announced on 03/01/2019 the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Italian Paralympic Committee which provided for the creation within the FIGC of a Paralympic and Experimental Football Division with of its own operational and organizational structure.
