Randy Lerner is looking to Bank of America Merrill Lynch to find a buyer for Aston Villa FC (Premier League), the American owner the Birmingham (England) club said on 12/05/2014. Lerner had bought the "Villains" from Doug Ellis in August 2006 for £62.6m (€93.3m at the time).

Aston Villa finished 15th in Premier League in 2013-14, with 38 points, five points ahead of Norwich City, 18th and relegated to the Championship. Villa have not finished in the top half of the English Premier League since 2010-11. According to the BBC, Randy Lerner hopes that the sale will be made for a minimum amount of £200m (€245.4m), or £100m less than what he invested in the club since his arrival in 2006.

"I owe it to Villa to move on, and look for fresh, invigorated leadership, if in my heart I feel I can no longer do the job," said Randy Lerner on 12/05/2014. "On a practical level, the club will continue with its normal operations and plans for the summer [of 2014]. "
