Premier League: 2020-21 season to begin on 12/09/2020 and end on 23/05/2021

The 2020-21 Premier League season will begin on 12/09/2020 and end with the final matchday on 23/05/2021, according to the English league after its shareholders' meeting on 26/07/2020.

"The Premier League will continue to consult The FA and EFL regarding the scheduling of all domestic competitions," said the English League.

As usual 20 clubs will feature in the 2020-21 Premier League. Liverpool FC were crowned 2019-20 champions, while Norwich City FC, AFC Bournemouth and Watford FC have been relegated to the Sky Bet Championship.

Joining the top flight are Leeds United FC, winners of the 2019-20 Sky Bet Championship, West Bromwich Albion FC (second) and either Brentford FC, Fulham FC, Cardiff City FC or Swansea City AFC, who are contesting for the final spot via the playoffs (see below), with the final to be held at Wembley Stadium (90,000 capacity) on Tuesday 04/08/2020, kick-off at 19:45 BST (20:45 CET).
