France: kingdom of Bahrain acquires 20% of Paris FC, Bahraini sovereign fund becomes main sponsor

"The Kingdom of Bahrain has become a new strategic partner of Paris FC (Ligue 2 BKT) and enters the capital to support the club's project, its development, but also its ambitions," announced the directors and shareholders of Paris FC on 27/07/2020.

"The transaction was carried out through an increase in capital shares to strengthen the club's own capital and allowing sovereign funds to own 20%. Pierre Ferracci (president of Paris FC) remains the majority owner at 77%," said the French club. 

"In addition to this investment, the Bahraini fund becomes the main sponsor of the club with the aim of increasing the image and notoriety of Bahrain, and promoting the discovery of this discreet but ambitious country. 'Explore Bahrain' will be the baseline of communication associated with the promotion of Bahrain in France and Europe," added Paris FC.
