Athletic Club Bilbao: launch of a start-up competition to promote innovation related to tourism

Athletic Club Bilbao (LaLiga Santander) has launched the "Smart Solutions for Smart Destinations Challenge", aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in tourism, in partnership with the World Tourism Organization, a United Nations agency for the promotion and development of tourism, and the Bizkaia (Biscay, Spanish province of which Bilbao is the capital) Provincial Council, on 27/07/2020.

"The competition is aimed at startups all over the world and calls on innovative companies around the world to find smart solutions to make the Estadio San Mamés (53,332 capacity) a focal point for inspiring new tourist experiences for the whole of Bizkaia," said Athletic Club Bilbao.

The competition has two categories: one for projects that are in the development or concept phase, and the other for projects that have already been tested on the market. The two winning startups in the competition will be able to develop a six-month pilot project with Athletic Club Bilbao.
