LFP: "€250m of TV rights due in August including €145m from Mediapro" (D. Quillot, CEO)

"The new contract is due when the championship starts. Jaume Roures (head of Mediapro) confirmed yesterday what Mediapro had written to us, namely that their first payment would be made two weeks before the start of the championship. For all broadcasters, the payment of invoices is expected at the beginning of August. In total, this is €250m in national and international rights. The first deadline of Mediapro will represent €145m," stated Didier Quillot, CEO of the LFP, to the French sports media L'Equipe on 29/07/2020.

"I have never doubted the project (of Mediapro). And this announcement (the agreement with Altice France for the distribution of the Téléfoot channel and the co-broadcasting of the European cups in 2020-21) is even a clear response to those who bet on a failure of Mediapro… This is not only a distribution agreement with a telecom operator, but also a content agreement with a broadcaster, in this case co-distribution of the Champions League and the Europa League in France (alongside RMC Sport).
