Germany: DFL general assembly on the return of spectators to the stadiums to be held on 04/08/2020

Should tickets not be sold to visiting team fans? Should standing tickets be temporarily banned? Should the sale of alcohol be banned in stadiums? Should the identity of any spectator be recorded so that the chain of contamination can be traced in the event of positive tests for Coronavirus (Covid-19)? These are the questions to be addressed by the 36 German professional clubs (18 from the Bundesliga and 18 from the 2.Bundesliga) at the DFL's extraordinary general assembly scheduled via videoconference on Tuesday 04/08/2020 (text of the motions available to download).

With the first matchday of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga scheduled from 18 to 21/09/2020, the DFL wants clubs to agree on the rules to be adopted to deal with the health crisis while allowing fans to return to the stadiums. The Bundesliga was the first major league to resume - behind closed doors - on 16/05/2020. FC Bayern Munich won their eighth consecutive German title on 16/06/2020.
