"As president of FIFA, it has been my aim from day one, and it remains my aim, to assist the authorities with investigating past wrongdoings at FIFA. FIFA officials have met with prosecutors in other jurisdictions across the world for exactly these purposes," said Gianni Infantino, president of the International Federation, on 30/07/2020.

Stefan Keller, appointed special prosecutor of the Swiss Confederation on 29/06/2020, has opened criminal proceedings against Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI) and requested the waiver of the immunity of Attorney General Michael Lauber, announced the Swiss authorities on 30/07/2020. The FIFA President is suspected of collusion with Michael Lauber, who resigned on 24/07/2020.

At the center of this case, three informal meetings - without any minutes recorded - in the 2016-2017 period between Gianni Infantino and Michael Lauber, as well as - for two meetings at least - the first prosecutor of Haut-Valais Rinaldo Arnold, a childhood friend of Gianni Infantino.
