DFL: German professional clubs adopt common protocols in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic

No tickets sold to fans of visiting clubs until 31/12/2020, no standing space in the stadiums until 31/10/2020, no sale of alcohol until 31/10/2020, and mandatory identification of spectators for being able to trace a possible chain of infection of Covid-19, these are the four measures adopted by the 36 Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga clubs during the extraordinary general assembly organized by video-conference on 04/08/2020.

"We are not expecting anything, we are demanding nothing," stated Christian Seifert, CEO and spokesman for the German Professional Football League (DFL) at the debate on the return of supporters to stadiums where the 2019-20 season ended behind closed doors on 27/06/2020. "We are preparing for it. The priority in Germany is not full stadiums, but the health situation."

"Like all other sectors, professional football can only return to normal life in stages. You cannot go from zero to 100 all at once. The measures taken are not designed to frame the long-term future of German football," emphasized Christian Seifert.
