DAZN (OTT): expansion in more than 200 countries from autumn 2020

"Currently in beta, DAZN’s global service will launch this fall in more than 200 countries and territories. Whilst the initial offering will focus on DAZN’s global catalogue of live sports rights - most notably championship-level boxing, DAZN is committed to begin adding more sports and sports content to the global service from early next year (2021)," announced the UK sports OTT platform on 06/08/2020.

"The development of non-live content will play a major role in our expansion plans. As one of the key learnings from the pandemic, the relationship between non-live content engagement and customer retention has never been stronger," said James Rushton, acting CEO of DAZN.

DAZN announced on 02/03/2020 to expand into more than 200 countries and territories from 02/05/2020, with in particular the boxing fight of the Mexican Canelo Alvarez scheduled for that date, a fight since canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis.
