Premier League: +14.5 million fans for Liverpool on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2019-20

Liverpool FC (Premier League) has 81.5 million followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/08/2020, or 14.5 million more than on 01/08/2019 (66.9 million fans, +22%). No club has made as much progress in the Premier League in the 2019-20 season.

In terms of the European Top 5 leagues, only three clubs experienced a greater increase in their number of fans over the season:
• FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander, +18.4 million);
• Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, +17.5 million);
• Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, +16.5 million).
The growth of the Liverpool club's digital community is mainly focused on Instagram, a social network on which the English champions has more than 8.6 million followers (59% of its total).

The most followed English club on social networks, however, remains Manchester United FC (134.7 million fans, +7% compared to 01/08/2019), followed by Chelsea FC (88.9 million, +8%) and therefore Liverpool, who passed Arsenal FC (71.7 million, +6%) during the course of the 2019-20 season.
