LaLiga Santander: +18.4 million fans for Barça on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in 2019-20

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) has 251.8 million followers on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/08/2020, or 18.4 million more than on 01/08/2019 (233.3 million fans, +8%).

In terms of the European Top 5 leagues, FC Barcelona is the club that has experienced the greatest increase in its number of followers over the season. The growth of the Catalan club's digital community is mainly focused on Instagram, a social network on which it gained nearly 13 million followers (i.e. 70% of the total). Real Madrid CF has nearly 17.6 million additional followers compared to 01/08/2019, a majority of which also via Instagram (77%).

Spanish champions in 2019-20, Real Madrid remains the most followed Spanish club on social networks (257.2 million fans, +7% compared to 01/08/2019), followed by FC Barcelona, and then Club Atlético de Madrid which completes the podium (28.8 million, +9%).
