Premier League: Arsenal FC to cut 55 posts to "ensure sustainable operation"

"With the expected reduction of income in mind, it is now clear that we must reduce our costs further to ensure we are operating in a sustainable and responsible way, and to enable us to continue to invest in the team. Our aim has been to protect the jobs and base salaries of our people for as long as we possibly can. Unfortunately, we have now come to the point where we are proposing 55 redundancies," Arsenal FC (Premier League) announced on 05/08/2020.

Arsenal FC finished 8th in the 2019-20 Premier League table, with 56 points (14 wins, 14 draws, 10 losses). The club will participate in the 2020-21 Europa League thanks to its victory in the final of the Emirates FA Cup 2019-20 against Chelsea FC (2-1). The 2019-20 Premier League season resumed on 17/06/2020, after three months of suspension due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), but all the matches played from the "restart" have been behind closed doors.
