Atalanta BC: a loan of €40m contracted with Intesa Sanpaolo for the renovation of the stadium

Intesa Sanpaolo, Italian bank born from the merger of SanPaolo IMI and Banca Intesa in 2007, has become the banking partner of Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM) from 2020-21, announced the club on 11/08/2020. This multifaceted partnership covers the club's youth teams, the naming of a stand at the Gewiss Stadium (22,000 capacity) and its renovation.

"The project includes a 40 million euro financing agreement between Intesa Sanpaolo and the Istituto per il Credito Sportivo (Italian public bank) for the renovation of the Gewiss Stadium," said Atalanta Bergamo. Taking over from Uni Banca, Intesa Sanpaolo also becomes the main shirt sponsor of the club's youth teams.

"The historic grandstand of the Bergamo stadium will be called 'Rinascimento' ('Renaissance') to provide continuity to the programme launched by Intesa Sanpaolo and the City of Bergamo to deal with the Covid-19 emergency.
