ExclusiveFIFA: "Gianni Infantino turned FIFA into a transparent organization" (Zvonimir Boban, CRO)

"Gianni Infantino (ITA-SUI, FIFA president since 26/02/2016) is a clean person who has transformed FIFA into a transparent and football-oriented organization, far from the muddy and toxic situation prior," former Croatian international Zvonimir Boban stated to News Tank Football on 13/08/2020.

The former midfielder, who served as FIFA's deputy secretary general from May 2016 to June 2019, assures that he does not understand that criminal proceedings have been opened by Swiss justice against the president of the international federation on 30/07/2020.

At the heart of the case, three informal meetings - without minutes kept - in the period of 2016-2017 between Gianni Infantino and then Swiss Attorney General Michael Lauber, who resigned on 24/07/2020. However, Michael Lauber had been in charge of procedures related to corruption scandals at FIFA since 2015, and FIFA was involved in these procedures.
