Borussia Dortmund: stable revenue of €486.9m and a net deficit of €43.9m in 2019-20

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) recorded revenue (transfers included) of €486.9m in the 2019-20 fiscal year (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), a very slight decrease compared to the previous year (€489.5m), announced the club on 17/08/2020.

The German club recorded a net loss of €43.9m, compared to a profit of €17.4 million at the end of the 2018-19 fiscal year. "From mid-March 2020, the severe restrictions imposed on Germans due to the Covid-19 pandemic had a massive impact on the club's economy and income. As a result, growth of 6.3% of turnover achieved during the first nine months was completely wiped out by the drop of more than 25% in turnover for the last three months of fiscal year 2019-20 compared to the same quarter of the previous year," stated Borussia Dortmund, which posted stable revenue excluding transfers at €370.2m (against €370.3m on 30/06/2019) and EBITDA down 46% to €63m (compared to €116m on 30/06/2019).
