ECA: Workshop on club structure and organisation held in Frankfurt

The first workshop of the ECA (European Club Association) on club structure and organisation, was held at the Commerzbank Arena in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) on 07/05/2014.

"Today, the structure and organisation of a football club - regardless whether it is organised as an association, a private company or a members' organisation - is essential for its long-term sustainability and success," stated ECA. "In fact, with the UEFA [Union of European Football Associations] Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations fully in place, it is now almost an obligation for a football club to be structured and run in a sustainable way."

60 participants from 40 ECA member clubs and representing 30 national federations listened to presentations by Domingos Soares de Oliveira, CEO of Benfica (Liga Zon Sagres, POR), Bart Verhaeghe president of Club Brugge (Jupiler Pro League, BEL) and Ian Williams, CEO of The New Saints FC (Welsh Premier League).
