Ligue 1 Uber Eats: no stadium will accommodate more than 5,000 people during Matchday 1

"Following the cancellation of the Dijon FCO - Nîmes Olympique friendly match, which was to serve as a test for the implementation of health measures, the Prefecture of the Côte-d'Or decided to postpone this test to the Dijon - Angers SCO match (Matchday 1 of Ligue 1 Uber Eats). Consequently, this game will be played with a capacity of 5,000 people, including the players in the game, staff and all the external service providers essential to the smooth running of the event," announced Dijon FCO on 18/08/2020.

None of the seven matches of the first round of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 Uber Eats scheduled from Friday 21 to Sunday 23/08/2020 (Marseille - AS Saint-Etienne, PSG - FC Metz and Montpellier HSC - Lyon have been postponed) will therefore not be held in front of more than 5,000 people, the maximum level authorized by the public authorities in France for any gathering until 30/10/2020. If a local prefectural exemption can be requested to increase the number of people who can attend an event, no Ligue 1 club has yet succeeded in obtaining one.
