UEFA: fan return to the stadiums under review, the European Super Cup proposed as a test match

UEFA and the general secretaries of its 55 member national federations discussed the feasibility and impact of a possible return of supporters to the stadiums in the context of club and national team competitions via video-conference, the European confederation indicated on 19/08/2020.

"Participants in the consultation stressed the need to put in place strict sanitary measures to ensure the health of everyone present at a match before allowing the return of supporters. It seems too early to allow them to attend the next matches. UEFA national team competitions to be held in early September (03-08/09/2020) and test matches will need to be organized to specifically study the impact spectators have on current medical protocols. suggested using the European Supercup (which pits the winner of the Champions League against that of the Europa League), which will be played on 24/09/2020 in Budapest (HUN), as a pilot match for which a reduced number of spectators could be allowed to enter ", explains UEFA.
