esports: Riot Games partners with Spotify (music streaming) to develop podcasts and playlists

Spotify, a music streaming platform, has become a partner of Riot Games for its LoL Esports events (the three major world events), "as part of a multi-year partnership," announced the US video game publisher on 24/08/2020.

"Spotify will serve as the official audio and music streaming partner for LoL Esports global events: the World Championship, Mid-Season Invitational, and All-Star Event," said Riot Games.

"In this first-of-its-kind collaboration, Spotify and Riot Games will produce a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Worlds Anthem, develop various podcast series, create curated playlists, and launch a new LoL Esports Hub on Spotify. Designed to provide an even richer League of Legends fan experience, this hub is brimming with music, podcasts, and playlists inspired by the gaming and esports community," explained the video game publisher. Teams from the LPL, LCK, LEC and LCS will also be offering their own playlists on Spotify's LoL Esports Hub (see activation details below).
