UEFA: 30% of the capacity of the Puskás Arena in Budapest (HUN) open to fans for the Super Cup

"The UEFA Executive Committee today decided to allow the 2020 UEFA Super Cup to be played on 24/09/2020 in Budapest (HUN) with a reduced number of spectators - up to 30% of the capacity of the stadium - in order to study precisely the impact of spectators on the UEFA Return to Play Protocol," announced the European Confederation on 25/08/2020. Around 20,000 people could therefore travel to the Puskás Arena (68,000 capacity) to attend the match between Champions League winners FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) and Europa League winners Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander).

UEFA and the general secretaries of its 55 member national member associations met by videoconference on 19/08/2020 "to study the feasibility and impact of a potential return of fans in stadiums as part of UEFA's club and national team competitions", and suggested the use of the European Super Cup as a test match to accommodate a reduced number of spectators.
