England: Brighton - Chelsea (friendly), first match open to the public as a test (2,500 spectators)

The friendly match between the Premier League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion FC and Chelsea FC (1-1) which took place at the Amex Stadium (30,666 capacity) on Saturday 29/08/2020 (kick-off at 15:00 BST) - was the first match played on English soil with the presence of spectators since the suspension of the 2019-20 Premier League season (19/03/2020) due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

A total of 2,500 tickets were put on sale by the English club for its season ticket holders and members of its loyalty programme. "The government approved the event on Wednesday afternoon, and the game is the stadium's first to include fans since lockdown commenced in March. (...) The match is all-ticket and in the unlikely event the game does not sell out, there will be no ticket sales on the day. Please note, tickets will not be made available to Chelsea supporters as we are not permitted to admit visiting supporters," said Brighton & Hove Albion FC (prior to the match) on 26/08/2020.
