Liverpool FC: the club to continue to deliver 1,000 free meals per week to poor communities

Liverpool FC (Premier League) will continue to provide 1,000 free meals each week to people in need who live in the Anfield area of Liverpool (where the stadium is located) or in the town of Kirkby (location of training centre), as part of its action against the Covid-19 pandemic, announced the club on 28/08/2020.

"Throughout the remainder of August and September, those most in need within Anfield and Kirkby will continue to receive the freshly prepared, nutritious meals.Food poverty has been identified as one of the club’s three main pillars of need throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, alongside social isolation and support for the NHS and key workers," the club stated.

"Since March, LFC Foundation and the Red Neighbours team (CSR programme of the club for the Anfield district of the city) have arranged a range of initiatives to help combat food poverty, from providing more than 3,400 people with breakfast parcels, to assisting with the distribution of more than 25,000kg of food from North Liverpool Foodbank to help the most vulnerable," said the club.
