France: Première Ligue union presents its Covid-19 reform proposals to French Ministry for Economy

Exemption from employer social charges contributions for the period from 01/07/2020 until the return to a normal level of spectators in the stadiums, reinstatement of collective image rights in the amount of 30% of the remuneration of athletes are two of the main proposals that the Première Ligue, the French union of football club presidents, presented to the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance on 27/08/2020.

While the recovery plan for the French State will be presented on Thursday 03/09/2020 by the government, the Première Ligue union met with the Minsitry in order to present the "very concrete and necessary" proposals to revive the professional football sector, severely affected by the health crisis, explained the union.

"The discussion with Olivier Dussopt (at the Ministry of Economy) was constructive. We now hope that it will be translated into concrete acts in the recovery plan and in the budget texts in the autumn.
