MLS: Inter Miami CF first MLS club to broadcast a game live via its own application

Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami (MLS), which played its first ever match in its renovated stadium (Lockhart Stadium, 18,000 capacity) versus Orlando City (3-2) on 23/08/2020, is the first club in the North American league to have broadcast an official match live via its application, according to the club owned by David Beckham (co-owner and president of soccer operations), on 28/08/2020.

This streaming service has been developed within the framework of an agreement for the local broadcasting rights of the club signed with the audiovisual group CBS Miami in April 2020. Only people within 100 miles (160km) of Miami could access the game. People outside this area had access to a feed with the match commentators but without the match footage. The game was broadcast free of charge.

"For the match against Orlando City, fans living in 30 countries and over 42 nationalities tuned-in to watch, with Argentina, the UK, Colombia and Mexico among the top four countries following the U.S. But fans as far as Brazil, Australia and France joined in as the club secured its first win," said the…
