LaLiga: 2021-2026 TV rights call for tenders launched in 7 European markets

LaLiga has launched a call for tenders for the broadcasting rights of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank in seven European markets (France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Poland and Greece), for the 2021-2026 cycle, on 07/09/2020.

Interested candidates have until 21/09/2020 to ask questions (tender@laliga.es) and until 05/10/2020 to submit their offers.

LaLiga's international broadcasting rights are marketed by Mediapro (€897m per season paid out by the Spanish audiovisual group until 2023-24), which notably launched its pay-TV channel Téléfoot in France on 21/08/2020.

In France, the pay-TV group beIN Sports currently holds the rights to the Spanish Championship. The Qatari group had extended these rights for the 2018-2021 cycle for an estimated €30m per year (compared with €26m per year over the 2015-2018 cycle), on 22/01/2018.
