Brazil 2014: ESPN launches "Global Issues" campaign and new mobile app

American sport channel ESPN launched a campaign called "Global Issues" on 05/05/2014 for the 2014 World Cup and a mobile app called "ESPN FC Soccer & World Cup" to promote its coverage of the event. The campaign will be carried out by the agency Wieden + Kennedy New York, and includes a promotional video on discussions that the World Cup will spark on every continent, as well as a poster campaign.

ESPN shows each of the participating nations at the World Cup in 32 posters created by the Brazilian artist Cristiano Siquiera, each containing one or more players from each team. Posters of France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Mexico, Argentina, Belgium and Côte d'Ivoire have already been unveiled, and others will be in the near future.

The ESPN FC Soccer & World Cup application is only available on Android. It will offer video of goals and other highlights from the competition, as well as a continuous flow of information. A user can also receive alerts about chosen teams.
