LaLiga SmartBank: Betway main shirt sponsor of RCD Espanyol after LD Sports (CHN) deal is terminated

Betway, a sports betting operator based in Guernsey and Malta, has become partner and main shirt sponsor of RCD Espanyol from 2020-21, announced the club that has been relegated to LaLiga SmartBank for the 2020-21 season, on 04/09/2020.

By becoming the club's main partner (first level), Betway is strengthening its commitment to Spanish football. The bookmaker is the main shirt sponsor of three LaLiga Santander clubs in 2020-21 (Real Betis Balompié, Levante Union Deportiva and Deportivo Alavés) and is also the betting partner of Real Club Celta de Vigo. Betway is also the main shirt sponsor of Club Deportivo Leganés, also relegated to LaLiga SmartBank for 2020-21.

This agreement follows the termination of the partnership between RCD Espanyol and LD Sports, a Chinese sports content platform, initially main shirt sponsor of the club for the 2019-2023 period (€4m/season).
