ExclusiveLFP: "The future management will have to prepare a new governance" (B. Caïazzo, Première Ligue)

"The elections should allow us to install a team at the head of professional football to prepare for a new governance," Bernard Caïazzo (AS Saint-Étienne), president of the Première Ligue union of primarily Ligue 1 clubs, stated to News Tank Football on 09/09/2020, while the elective General Assembly of the LFP is scheduled on Thursday 10/09/2020.

This General Assembly must elect a new board of directors of the French League for the 2020-2024 period, and appoint the successor of Nathalie Boy de la Tour, president since 11/11/2016 and who is not a candidate for a second term.

"Initially, it will mainly be a question of returning to a reinforced unit in order to gain in efficiency. It will of course be necessary to modify the current statutes, with the support of the FFF which, during the Federal Assembly, will have the last word," added Bernard Caïazzo.

"As a second step, we will have to work on an organization aimed at increasing our resources, hence the creation of a commercial company and, no doubt, the drafting of a new law (in France) for sport. Professional Football League…
