France: Simon Cliff (City Football Group) appointed president of ESTAC Troyes (Ligue 2 BKT)

"Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne (Ligue 2 BKT) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Simon Cliff (ENG) as the new president of the club," announced the French club on 10/09/2020. The former lawyer succeeds Daniel Masoni, owner and president of ESTAC Troyes since 2009, who has just sold the club to City Football Group (CFG), a holding company invested in football assets (professional clubs, infrastructures, innovation).

"Simon Cliff, who is stepping down as general counsel at City Football Group (a position he has held since 2009) has a wealth of football expertise and knowledge from his work at the pinnacle of European football. He has been a key member of the board that has seen Manchester City FC (Premier League) and City Football Group evolve into one of the most innovative organisations in world sport," added ESTAC Troyes.

"ESTAC Troyes will now benefit from all this experience, as Simon Cliff, who also spent a year in France during his law studies, now runs the club and is able to express himself in French," added the club.
