Germany: DFB-Pokal marketing rights agreement mutually terminated by the DFB and Infront

"The current business relations between the marketing agency Infront and the Deutscher Fussball Bund (DFB) have been terminated by mutual agreement and the resulting financial obligations have been settled. With immediate effect, the DFB will market the DFB-Pokal itself," announced the body on 11/09/2020.

The DFB had decided to terminate the existing contracts with Infront on 24/06/2020. Infront, a partner of the body for more than 35 years, had been managing the marketing rights of the DFB-Pokal since 2015.

"The DFB, which in May 2019 had received indications of possible damaging activities by Infront against the DFB, has now received the results of an investigation by the Berlin-based consultancy Esecon. This has resulted in various actions over the past few years, which the DFB regards as clear irregularities in connection with the creation and provision of contractual services by Infront and unlawful influence on DFB representatives," said the body at the time.
