FC Barcelona: 2020-21 provisional budget 30% lower (approximately €735m) than than in 2019-20

"The board has assessed the set of measures proposed by the Covid-19 commission to adjust and balance the budget for the 2020-21 season to the loss of revenue caused by the pandemic. The club estimates a reduction by around 30% in relation to income budgeted for the 2019-20 season," announced FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander), after a meeting of the club's board of directors on 10/09/2020.

FC Barcelona's socios assembly voted for a provisional budget of €1.047bn for the 2019-20 season on 06/10/2019. This provisional budget, the highest ever approved by a football club, was the first to expect to exceed €1bn in revenue. It was a continuation of the 2018-19 season, during which FC Barcelona posted revenues of €990m (+7.6% compared to 2017-18), the highest in the club's history.

If this budget were indeed be 30% lower than in 2019-20, the provisional budget for the 2020-21 season would therefore amount to approximately €735m.
