G. Infantino and D. Trump discuss the installation of FIFA HQ in the USA for the 2026 World Cup

FIFA president Gianni Infantino met with Donald Trump, President of the United States, at the White House in Washington DC (USA) on 15/09/2020 "to discuss the establishment of FIFA headquarters in the US for the 2026 World Cup," announced FIFA on 17/09/2020.

"They also used the occasion to review the preparations for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by the USA, Canada and Mexico, and to discuss further how football can continue to develop and prosper in the United States by using the FIFA World Cup in 2026 as a catalyst," added the International Federation.

Gianni Infantino was in Washington to attend on behalf of FIFA the signing of the peace agreement between Bahrain, Israel and the United Arab Emirates at the White House.

The FIFA president "thanked President Trump for his great commitment to the success of the FIFA World Cup 2026 and his engagement in a bright future for soccer in the US," added FIFA.
