Spain: Luis Rubiales re-elected for four years as president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation

With 95 votes in favour, 0 against and 10 blank votes: Luis Rubiales was re-elected president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation until 2024, at the RFEF general assembly held at body's headquarters the Ciudad de Futbol in Las Rozas, in the northern suburbs of Madrid (ESP), on 21/09/2020.

Luis Rubiales was the only candidate after the withdrawal of Iker Casillas, former Spanish international goalkeeper. A former player and former president of the AFE (Association of Spanish Footballers), Luis Rubiales succeeded Angel Maria Villar Llona (also a former player) as president of the RFEF on 17/05/2018, after the latter was removed from his post by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on 21/12/2017.

"I want to send a clear message: I am going to engage in dialogue, but with the determination to seek the good for all, not just for a few.
