FIFA: GWC (logistics), first regional supporter of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar

GWC, a Qatari company specialised in logistics, has become a regional supporter and official logistics provider for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, announced FIFA on 21/09/2020. The competition will take place from 21/11 to 18/12/2022.

GWC has the status of regional supporter, the third level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the 22^nd edition of the World Cup. The company is the first to obtain this status for the next World Cup.

"Logistics are critical to an event as large and complex as the FIFA World Cup, so having GWC on board as a Regional Supporter and the Official Logistics Provider for the tournament will provide FIFA and its Commercial Affiliates with crucial support and expertise in logistics and supply chain management, which will ensure a smooth and efficient delivery of the competition," said Simon Thomas, chief commercial officer at FIFA.

• GWC, was previously a national supplier for the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar from 11 to 21/12/2019.
