DFL: EA Sports (video games) renews partnership for the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga

Electronic Arts (EA), an American video game company based in California (USA), via its subsidiary EA Sports, has renewed its partnership with the DFL for its competitions, the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga, as part of a "multi-year" agreement, announced the German Football League on 28/09/2020. The exact duration of the partnership has not been specified.

"EA, an official partner of Bundesliga since 1998 and one of the world's leading video game publishers, will retain the exclusive license rights for match simulation. The extension of the partnership ensures the long-term presence and authentic presentation of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 as well as all clubs, players and the German Supercup (DFL-Supercup) in the EA Sports FIFA video game franchise," said the DFL.

Also included in the agreement is the development of the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL) the DFL's official esports competition played on the FIFA video game.
