Germany: the DFB and DFL launch the "Management in Professional Football" course

The "Management in Professional Football" programme, a project developed jointly by the DFL and the DFB-Akademie and announced in March 2020, will see its first courses begin on 12/10/2020, announced German League and Federation on 24/09/2020. 14 participants, mostly employees of Bundesliga or 2.Bundesliga clubs (see list below), will form the first group on the course.

"The aim of the programme is to prepare those responsible for sporting activities primarily at clubs in the Bundesliga, 2.Bundesliga and 3.Liga for the tasks ahead of them as decision-makers in professional football. The training course will also enable the clubs to advance their own employees to roles with high levels of responsibility," explained the two bodies.

Among the courses on the programme of this new qualification: sports law, licensing, organisation, financial management and leadership. 19 days involving all participants will be held in addition to regular virtual meetings. The end of the course for the very first class is scheduled for April 2022.
