LFP: J-P Caillot (S. de Reims) elected president of Ligue 1 College, succeeds J-M Aulas (O. Lyon)

"The presidents of Ligue 1 clubs elect Jean-Pierre Caillot (Stade de Reims) as president of the Ligue 1 College and Jean-Pierre Rivère (OGC Nice) as vice-president for a four-year term, at headquarters of the LFP, in Paris (FRA)," announced the French League on 29/09/2020.

If Jean-Pierre Rivère retains a vice-presidency which he already held, Jean-Pierre Caillot succeeds Jean-Michel Aulas (Olympique Lyonnais) who had announced that he would not stand for a new term.

"Vincent (Labrune, the new president of the LFP) convinced me not to run for president of the College of Ligue 1. Some would say this is because I was afraid of not having the majority. I would respond very clearly that during the last election (for Ligue 1 College on 18/09/2019), I was not the favorite, yet I defeated Bernard Caïazzo. This is more to respect what Vincent Labrune and Noël Le Graët (FFF president) want, which I have said before, and that I take this decision to withdraw.
