European Top 5: Burnley FC (Premier League) most stable squad in 2019-20 and 2020-21 (CIES)

Burnley FC (Premier League) was the European Top 5 club to have used the fewest players (24) during the entire 2019-20 season and the beginning of the 2020-21 season, according to the CIES Football Observatory's Weekly Post, published on 05/10/2020.

The Premier League was also the league with the most stable teams over the period, as four other English clubs (West Bromwich Albion FC, Brighton & Hove Albion FC, Southampton FC and Liverpool FC) used only 25 players from their professional squads, as did French club Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Uber Eats).

Conversely, Genoa CFC (Serie A TIM) carried out the largest rotation of its squad over the period, with a total of 42 players used, ahead of AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 40 players) and FC Crotone (Serie A TIM, 39 players).
