The ECA (European Club Association) released its "Women's Club Football Analysis" at the second edition of the Women's Football Committee in Lisbon on 22/05/2014, the day of the final of the Women's Champions League (Wolfsburg-Tyreso FF). It states that clubs are asking for greater financial support, the establishment of an international women's calendar and the centralisation of media and sales revenues for the Women's Champions League.

The objective of the study is to "to better identify the current situation on different topics: the administrative situation of the club, the club’s position on the strategic issues, its relations with other stakeholders, as well as success and constraint factors in European Women’s football," said the ECA.

The Women's Football Committee was established at the 10th ECA general assembly in Doha (QAT) on 22/01/2013. Composed of 23 women's clubs and chaired by Jean-Michel Aulas (President of Olympique Lyonnais), the committee aims to promote women's football and interact directly with governing bodies.
