Champions League (UEFA): Mastercard (payment solutions) extends partnership for 2021-2024

Mastercard, an American group specialised in payment solutions, has extended as a partner of the Champions League for an additional three seasons (2021-2024), announced UEFA on 19/10/2020. The agreement also covers the 2021, 2022 and 2023 editions of the European Super Cup.

A partner of the Champions League since the 1994-95 season, "Mastercard has given so many priceless experiences to fans across the globe and will continue to offer children the opportunity to become player mascots, both virtually and eventually physically on the pitch - once the situation concerning the Covid-19 pandemic improves," said UEFA (see details of the player mascot operation below).

Mastercard is the second group to extend its partnership with the Champions League (and the European Super Cup) for the 2021-2024 cycle, after Heineken (agreement on 13/11/2019). Matchday 1 of the Champions League group stage is scheduled for Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21/10/2020. The final will take place at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul (TUR) on Saturday 29/05/2021.
