LFP: tribute to murdered teacher Samuel Paty in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 stadiums from 23 to 26/10/2020

The LFP general assembly has decided to pay tribute to Samuel Paty, next weekend, at all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 stadiums during the matches counting for Matchday 8 of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats and Ligue 2 BKT (programme below), announced the French Professional Football League on 19/10/2020.

"Before the kick-off of the matches, a minute of silence will be observed in homage to the history and geography teacher who was beheaded on Friday 16/10/2020 in an attack in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines) and his portrait will be shown on big screens at the stadiums," said the LFP.

"During the matches, all those involved in the game (players, coaches, referees) will wear black armbands in tribute to him," added the League.

• A national tribute to Samuel Paty, the teacher murdered after a lecture on freedom of expression, will be paid on Wednesday 21/10/2020, announced the Presidency of the French Republic on Saturday 17/10/2020.
