LFP TV rights: "We are in a process of conciliation with the League" (Jaume Roures, Mediapro)

"We have entered a conciliation process with the French Professional Football League. This is a confidential process, so we cannot go into the details of this conciliation, which will last several weeks. We are confident about the outcome of this conciliation and we will respect its terms," stated Jaume Roures, founding partner of the Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, during a press conference organized in Paris (FRA) on 21/10/2020.

"The conciliation process can last up to four months, extendable one month (or five months maximum, in total). It is a procedure which allows French companies to find a stable legal framework to negotiate with their creditors," explained a lawyer of Mediapro present at the press conference.

"I say it again, this is a request for renegotiation for this season (2020-21), we are not questioning the contract. We did not overpay the contract at the time, we put the rights of Ligue 1 at the level of its European competitors, but the current context is not the same as at the time of the call for tenders (which ended on 29/05/2018)," said Jaume Roures…
