Sky Deutschland: Bundesliga advertising revenue up 20% for 2013-14

Sky Media Network, the advertising manager for German pay TV group Sky Deutschland, announced on 22/05/2014 that its Bundesliga advertising revenue grew 20% in 2013-14 compared to the previous season, and by 74.2% for 2.Bundesliga, the German second division.

The company, which does not disclose the amount of these revenues, indicated that 2013-14 was the third consecutive season of double-digit growth in advertising revenues for broadcasts of Bundesliga.

For live broadcasts of first-division matches, 85.7% of available advertising was filled, or 3.9% more than in 2012-13, and the improvement was at 11.9% for advertising at the halftimes of games. Advertising in the form of screen displays during matches, which was new to Sky in 2013-14, was 100% filled, according to Sky Media Network.

The number of Bundesliga advertisers increased by 16.4% compared to 2012-13. Sky Media Network cited among its best customers: the brewer Krombacher (GER), Turkish Airlines (TUR), the automaker Kia (KOR) and operators of sports betting Bwin (AUT) and Tipico (MLT). In the list of its best new…
