Bologna FC 1909: a turnover of €55m (-21.4%) and net loss of €39.4m in 2019-20

Bologna FC 1909 (Serie A TIM) posted a turnover of €55m (excluding gains from player transfers) for the financial year 2019-20 (from 01/07/2019 to 30/06/2020), down 21.4% compared to 2018-19 (€70m), according to the Italian club on 19/10/2020.

"This year, the emergency situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in the suspension of the league from March, with the 2019-20 Serie A season coming to an end behind closed doors following 30/06/2020, the end of the financial year. Therefore, since they occurred after 30/06/2020, some items in the profit and loss account are not aligned with previous years," said Bologna FC, which played its last ten Serie A TIM match in July (nine matches) and August 2020 (one match), and will receive €12m in TV rights for this over the financial year 2020-21.

In addition to TV rights (€33.8m, versus €44.1m in 2018-19), ticketing revenue was also down (€4.5m, versus €5.8m), while commercial revenues are stable (-€0.3m) and gains from player transfers were up slightly (€17.2m, versus €15.2m). The wage bill dropped from €58m to €48.5m, as managers…
