Stop of the 2019-20 French season: O. Lyon continues damages claim "exclusively against the LFP"

"Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) confirms its willingness to pursue its claim for compensation exclusively against the French Professional Football League," the club announced on 23/10/2020.

"Olympique Lyonnais took note this Friday 23/10/2020 of the decision of the French Council of State, which rejected the request for annulment of the decisions to end the championship definitively and to rank in points-per-game, taken by the LFP on 30/04/2020. It recalls that this decision to definitively stop the championship has indeed been taken by the board of directors of the LFP, and not by the State," added the club. OL finished 7^th in Ligue 1 in 2019-20, a ranking that did not allow them to qualify for a European cup in 2020-21, thus ending a series of 23 consecutive participations.
