Covid-19: disciplinary proceedings opened against Stade Rennais for violation of UEFA regulations

"Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Champions League group stage match Stade Rennais FC (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) and FC Krasnodar (RFPL), played on 20/10/2020 in France (at the Roazhon Park in Rennes)," announced UEFA on 23/10/2020.

According to the body, the charges against Stade Rennais FC are:
• "Blocking of public passageways (Article 38 Safety and Security Regulations)
• UEFA Minimum Health & Hygiene Requirements for the Return of Spectators (Para 12.5.3 - failure to maintain social distancing & Para 12.5.4 - failure to remain in allocated seats)
• Violation of the UEFA Return to Play Protocol (Para 11.2)."

"The case will be dealt with by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) at its meeting on 10/11/2020," concluded the European Confederation, while Stade Rennais are due to play their second Champions League home game versus Chelsea FC (Premier League) on 24/11/2020 (kick-off at 18:55 CET), before hosting Sevilla FC (LaLiga Santander) on 08/12/2020 on the last matchday of the group stage.
